Geocache Description:

November 2016 field check confirmed all waypoints and refreshed all clues. As always rely on your eyes and logical deduction. The old makes way for the new and there have been many changes.

Mr. Elver's Cache challenges you with ten or more stages. Waypoints are located by several methods other than coordinates. You will need to use the bearing and distance functions of your GPS to locate waypoints.

You will be decoding, interpreting, and searching for clues to the waypoints. Some may be difficult to find, but you are good, maybe even a PRO, otherwise you wouldn't be here. It might be best to practice before you go. Remember all locations are approximate because of vegetation and different GPSs.
Be prepared with a notebook and pencil to take notes. Water and a snack? This will be a fun hike but could take 1 to 4 hours or more depending on conditions.

Waypoint ME1 – N 43 02.286 W 89 30.132. Read the meter number and write it down. Above the numbers, write the letters A through I from left to right. You will need this key to decode the clues. CAUTION: I is not 1.

Waypoint ME2 – Go to N 43 02.(A-G)(A-G)(E+F) W 089 29.ADH. Look SSE. Walk SSE down the trail. You will see two totally different towers. Go along the path to a place where the distant hyrdo tower lines up with communication tower.

Waypoint ME3 – Walk backwards on the line of towers to where a large V is growing. Your next clue is darkly linked to a small vessel. Look carefully for the vessel. Copy the coded clues for your next waypoint ME3.

Waypoint ME4 – If you got to here, you are on a solid footing. Stand facing the map. Remember you are a PRO! Read the PRO number. Waypoint ME5 is located near a point at an azimuth of (F) degrees true at a distance (PRO number minus GI) feet.

Waypoint ME5 - GPS readings can vary 25 feet under any conditions. Leave every rock at your feet UNturned; this is original stone fence; disturb none. Use your head to find the vessel. Replace it carefully.

Waypoint ME6 – Where is it? Can’t find it? Are you puzzled or what? Your condition is your clue.

Waypoint ME7 - An unusual stranger among other friends.

Waypoint ME8 – A long term resident of the park with memories of Mr. Elver himself. The clues and directions to Waypoints ME9 & ME10 are well hidden. You will need to write them down.

Waypoint ME9 – Now that you know more about your surroundings, and with your notes from ME7, you know where you are going – to ME10. In the meantime, did you know that you are standing on original Gammon Road extended? Instead of a street, it became a park.

Waypoint ME10 is near an outdoor metal museum of rural life. You can find the furnace, stock tanks, and boiler. Still fishing for clues? Then you are in the right place.

Waypoint ME11 – If you made it here, you are near a gender specific portal to the underworld and you can see its siblings not far away. The cache lies hidden [(H-F)(G-H)] feet away at an azimuth of [(A-G)(H-F)A] degrees.

Please take care to replace the cache and hide it well. There appear to be numerous two and four legged visitors. Some have even built large nests above the old scrap heap and across the open field. More are coming. Will the field stay open; or will it yield to unrelenting pressure? What do you think should happen?

Well, that concludes your tour of Mr. Elver's Farm, Park and Cache, but there still is much more to see. It may be worth another visit just to hike or ski other areas. And when you do, think about what the park will look like in another twenty years. Where will it change the most? Good Geocaching!
