Geocache Description:

It's getting to that time again, Coroboree time!

As summer ends & winter gallops in, it's time to get together for our 9th, yup! 9th Corroboree. This year the venue is the Cherry Tree at High Hoyland. Mike G performed a preliminary recce a couple of weeks ago & we carried out a detailed survey this weekend which involved sampling the beers on offer, & very good they were too. The pub has at least 4 real ales on, plus the usual keg choices. The Cherry Tree regularly features in CAMRA awards.
This
link takes you to the pub menu, the food looks very good & is freshly cooked. Food is served 12-2pm but the landlord, Ken, has kindly offered to extend the time if demand is there. Saying that, please don't come rolling in at 4pm expecting to be fed. Doors open at 12, though Ken did say that if we were banging on the door, he might open up earlier. Dogs are welcome in the stone flagged area in front of the bar, Brook was made very welcome on Saturday even though he had just come out of the river & was a tad ripe. Well behaved kids are also welcome. The pub isn’t on a bus route (sorry) but isn’t too far from Kexborough. Looking at the beers on offer, notably Taylors Landlord, we’ll be getting a taxi. We could probably organise a taxi share from Barnsley if anyone is interested.

There are plenty of caches in the area including a cracking series on the doorstep which would be a good way to work up an appetite. MikeG has kindly offered to put out his traditional “Santas Cache” for the kids. This is very popular with the young ‘uns & contains quality goodies from Santas helpers. We will hold a raffle to cover the costs of Santas Cache, with any surplus going to the pubs choice of charity.

If anyone would like to set any caches for the day, please feel free, the more the merrier.

Any raffle prize donations would be very welcome

We look forward to meeting up with the usual suspects and Cachers new.

Update

MikeG has very kindly offered to set Santas Cache for the Kids at the Corroboree. He has asked that if any one is planning to set caches for the day, could they please avoid this area
