Another in our series of local moth species, a quick cache and dash.
This is a small screw top container with log book, pencil, small swappables and FTF card.
The Ghost Swift is the largest of the Swift moths and gets its name because the male is pure white and has the habit of floating like a pendulum over grassland in the late evening. This ghost like movement attracts the orange females. The female lays its eggs on the wing and the caterpillars feed on roots of grasses and herbaceous plants and can be a pest of root vegetables.
