Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the listed coordinates, but is the location of the local Russian cultural center.

UVB-76 is the call sign of a shortwave radio station that broadcasts on the frequency 4625 kHz. It's known among radio listeners by the nickname The Buzzer. It features a short, monotonous buzz tone, repeating at a rate of approximately 25 tones per minute, for 24 hours per day.

The station's transmitter is located at Povarovo, Russia (56°4'58"N 37°5'22"E), which is about halfway between Zelenograd and Solnechnogorsk and 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Moscow, near the village of Lozhki - deep in the heart of the former Soviet military command center.

While the actual purpose of this alleged "numbers station" is unknown, some CIA analysts believe that a break in the constant transmission of its characteristic sound may be a signal to an army of Soviet Russian sleeper cell teams - who are still located in the United States. The transmission may be a kind of dead man's switch where, if stopped, it would awaken these sleeper agents, waiting for their opportunity to enact a plan made during the former cold war. Clearly, this no longer a possibility as the cold war has been over for 25 years...or is it?

Less than 24 hours ago, the usual characteristic sound was interrupted by a morse code signal which was repeated three times…then the signal stopped...

Your mission is to intercept the secret Soviet plans before the sleeper cells. The mission is dangerous and requires field skills, but you are our last chance. Good luck and trust no one.
