This series of caches is placed along the newly opened Whiskeag Trail, which runs from the YMCA to the Thorne Head Preserve. The trail is 5 miles long and runs along the Whiskeag Creek. At Thorne Head the fresh water mixes with the brackish water of the Kennebec Estuary. An estuary is a body of water where fresh and salt water mix.
The parking area at the Thorne Head Preserve is the finish for the Whiskeag Trail (unless you start here) Guess where the logical place is to hide a cache here.
