Geocache Description:

Eastern entrance to Dublin Hills Regional Park

Whilst embarking on a "New World" adventure, I had occasion to enter the park thru the east side. I actually like this eastern entrance better, but there aren't many caches on this side (yet). I have a hunch that caches will begin to appear nearby.

To find this entrance, you take the Brigadoon turnoff from Dublin Blvd. You continue down Brigadoon quite a way, til it deadends. Residents are trying to discourage a lot of parking at this trailhead, so I parked a short distance away. (Be sure to use a "guest" spot, not one of the resident's parking space.)

The cache is only a short walk away. Nearby, you'll also see a "storm collection" point--the destination of the creek tumbling out of the hills. I think civil engineers will find this interesting.

After finding the cache, take a minute to walk thru the gate and check-out the pleasant area beyond. Magnificent oak trees, on the side of a creek, which emerges from a steep gorge, straight ahead.

This is the Donlan Loop trail. It continues up a grade to the right, with a few switchbacks. Then, you emerge into the open, on a ridge overlooking the entire Dublin Hills park.

The cache is a shiny bison.

I hope you find this trail as interesting as I did.
