Geocache Description:

This is a new cache to replace my nearby Race to the Rock cache. It's a small lock n lock box hidden in a very typical geo spot.

Cordage Park is a very interesting, historic and important place that played a big part in Plymouth's History. In short, Plymouth was once the rope making capital of the world. The Cordage Company is the place that supplied rope to the world. If you are a person with roots in North Plymouth chances are that your grandparents and or great grandparents as well as most of your other relatives worked for the Cordage Company. A lot of the houses in the area housed Cordage employees of all levels. The sight where this cache is hidden was once a huge hill which the Loring Library sat atop. The library was moved, attached to the church across the street and restored and is now used as a function hall. The hill which offered views of the bay was torn down to make way for the now abandoned retail establishment that sits here. If you are not from this area take a few minutes to drive around the property many of the abandoned buildings that once housed the Cordage Co. are still there. In my youth this was a favorite place to explore it was pretty much a ghost town. I'm sure if you want to learn more about the Cordage Company there is plenty of information on line.
For the time being have fun finding this cache.
Log is made of my waterproof vinyl so bring a sharpie or a pen as pencil or gel tip wont work on it.
Sorry no F.T.F. prize on this one, bragging rights only.

CONGRATULATIONS TO PANDAGRAM FOR F.T.F.
