Double Springs is a great little town with lots of caching in the area. The Dual Destiny monument is close to your quest.
This monument to the pain of civil war is a soldier wearing half a uniform from the Confederacy and half from the Union. The clothes are worn and the sword is broken. The statue stands in front of the Winston County courthouse. Winston County did not join the Confederacy and is still known as the "Free State of Winston." [Jeane Goforth, 03/12/2007]
