Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDS. DON'T GO TO POSTED COORDS. NO REASON TO GO TO THE POSTED COORDS TO FIND THIS CACHE.

This cache is hidden in connection with the Milestones 2: They Are About the Numbers Event held the evening of 11/11/11 (visit link) Thanks to all who participated setting up this event.

This is a fairly simple puzzle. If you are attending the event and reading this now and are considering going for this, it is walkable but there is parking not too far from GZ and, if you drive, you can more likely get the FTF. If you are not attending or planning to go find this one another day, then you can do all the research and math at home and do not need to return to where the event is.

To obtain the coords, you will need to do some very brief/simple research and math. Google would be a nice tool to use.

As with several other caches I have placed, this one has a Chicago Cubs theme.

For both the N and W coords, you will need to obtain the name of a former player of the Cubs. Once you have the names, you should be able to quickly get the final coords. Remember Google is your friend.

NORTH

This Former Cub played only one season (2009) with the team and appeared in 74 games. He wore jersey number 7. If you can't get it from only that info, I can tell you this about him: He was born December 15, 1976 in Pittsburg, CA (That is CA, not PA).

When you have his name, write down his last name on piece of paper and then note the number of letters in his first name.

Multiply the number of letters in his FIRST name by 9 and add it to 42 07.336 to get the correct North Coords

WEST

This former Cub played with the team from 1974-1976. He was a pitcher. He also pitched for the White Sox. However, he is more well known for another job he had with both both teams. His baseball career was highlighted in 1980 when he won the American League Cy Young Award.

OK. Now that you have this players name, write down his last name right next to the last name for the other player from the North Coords. You should have a word familiar with tonight's event. Fun!!

Now take the number of letters in this players' LAST name and multiply it by 7. Take that number and subtract it from 087 49.498

OK. You now have the final coords. Go Go Go!!!!

This cache has an unusual log and it may be difficult to sign with just a standard ballpoint pen. A marker would be preferable but if you just have a pen, do your best.
