Geocache Description:

You are looking for a micro on the newly completed Benjamin Hawkins Parkway where it intersects with Boy Scout Road. The Central Georgia Council Boy Scouts operate nearby Camp Benjamin Hawkins.

"T-2-1" is a Boy Scout term that refers to the progressive ranks a Scout achieves on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout. T-2-1 means Tenderfoot - Second Class - First Class.

When a boy enters Scouting, he begins at the Scout level. His first rank will be Tenderfoot. The Tenderfoot Scout is introduced to skills he will need in the outdoors: camping basics, knot tying, first aid, and physical fitness.

Next is Second Class. The Second Class Scout takes a more active role in the patrol as he learns to cook his own meals, set-up his own tent and campsite, and demonstrate swimming abilities.

After Second Class, the Scout will advance to First Class. Lord Baden-Powell, founder of Boy Scouts, said that First Class is the level which all Scouts should aim to reach. It is the First Class Scout who has learned to cook for himself and others, use a map and compass, safely and properly use knives, administer necessary first aid, and confidently camp outdoors.

As Scouts continue on the Trail to the Eagle, they will reach the ranks of Star Scout and Life Scout, which focus on service, unit leadership, merit badge knowledge, and tenure in the troop. The pinnacle of Scouting is the rank of Eagle Scout.
