Geocache Description:

Ottery Mine is a nice tranquil spot just a bit of the beaten path and has been maintained as a piece of local history.

In the 1920’s it was established as an Arsenic mine and treatment plant and in 1928 a tin treatment plant was added. It has been closed since the 1950’s but what remains includes a great little walking tour and picture descriptions of days gone by.
This cache could be a quick drive up, but don’t miss the opportunity to look around.
From Emmaville or Deepwater take the Wellington Vale Rd to the Ottery Mine 3km sign that points the way to the site which is on the left.
