[ITA] Il magnifico parco regionale di Marturanum preserva alcuni interessantissimi aspetti e rovine della piu grande civiltà mai esistita in Italia prima degli antichi romani.
[EN] The wonderful regional parc of Marturanum preserves amazing aspects and remains of the greatest civilization ever existed in Italy before the Ancient Romans.
[ITA] La documentazione piu vecchia della città di Marturanum (da cui il nome del parco oggigiorno) data addirittura del periodo Villanoviano (X sec. A.C.) ma è solamente
dal VII sec. A.C. che la città conobbe un periodo prosperoso fino almeno al III sec. A.C.
Durante il II sec. A.C. i romani, da tempo in lotta con gli Etruschi per il dominio territoriale dell'area ebbero la meglio, sottomettendo ed integrando la loro popolazione.
Qui potrete trovare la piu antica tra le necropoli rupestri che è anche quella con la maggior varietà di tipologie tombali: la necopoli do San Giuliano.
Le tombe più antiche risalgono addirittura al VII sec. A.C.
La cache si trova presso il magnifico gruppo di tombe denominato "Il Portico" e richiede modestissime abilità arrampicatorie (negli ultimi 3 metri in verticale)... ma attenzione a dove mettete i piedi!

[EN] The oldest documentation of the town of Marturanum (hence the name of the park nowdays) dates back to the Villanovian period (X cent. B.C.) but it is only since
the VII century BC that the town knew a period of well-being until at least the III century BC.
During the II century BC the romans spreaded out by fighting, submitting and later absorbing (in II cent. BC) the Etruscan population.
Here can be found the oldest of the Etruscan necropolis, that is also the one with the richest variety of tombs types: the necropolis of San Giuliano.
The tombs can be dated back up to few mounds of seventh century BC.
The cache can be found near the wonderful group of tomb named "Il Portico" and requires very basic climbing skills (in the last 3 meters vertically) but watch you step!
