10/45: A PIECE OF NJ HISTORY

All Weird NJ caches begin with two numbers (i.e. 12/47)
The first is the issue the article appeared in, the second is the page number.
As with all my Weird NJ caches, if you want to take pictures and send them to me,
I'll be glad to post them at my private website.

NJ has a thing for diners. For some reason, you don't find them much outside of the northeast (or so I've heard). I guess I'm just spoiled being able to grab a bite to eat at 2AM. Many of the diners from years ago were built from railway cars. Rosie's Diner was a good example of an old-fashioned diner, but sadly is gone (moved out to Ohio by some guy who thought it would work out there too. It didn't) The Bendix in Hasbrouck Heights is one current example (too bad the food ain't so great) Most of the diners that remain are practically restaurants, bearing little resemblance to the diners of old.

Weird NJ recently profiled the history of two eating establishments both of which claim to be the original one. I won't reveal anything here. For details, go to my home page where I'll discuss it in greater detail. So I know you actually visited this site before logging in the cache (and aren't just familiar with it) tell me the name of security company they use. (I could've used something inside as a reference, but I felt forcing someone to enter that cramped space, hunt around then leave might make them uncomfortable. Thusly I choose something outside the building as my verification item.) :)

If you are a fan of Weird NJ and know what this place is,
please do not log a find unless you actually visit it.
Feel free to post a note,
but logs must be followed up with an email confirming
you've been there by providing the answer to the question.
