Celebrating Susanangel's 1000th Find Traditional Geocache

Please join me in congratulating Susanangel on her 1000th find. It's certainly a major milestone!
I specifically chose Lake Kissimmee State Park to commemorate one of our adventures that we now "fondly" refer to as our "Death March". This was a bicycle trip we took around the Buster Loop Trail on Sept. 29, 2011 that almost ended in disaster for both of us. The length of the trail (almost 7 mi.), combined with the flooded trail conditions that day (which resulted in having to push our bikes most of the way), plus the extreme heat and not coming prepared with enough food and water was almost too much for us.
We were literally about to drop in our tracks and it took all our will power and determination to finally reach this point near where the cache is located. Once here, we knew we only had a couple tenths of a mile to go to reach the car with its wonderful AC and more water. I think we were both almost in tears when we finally got to the parking lot!
Since meeting Susanangel, I've noticed that most of my adventures with her have included one or more of the following: slopping through mud, splashing through and/or wading in water, climbing trees, trudging through sand , and of course, lots of bushwhacking! This trip was certainly no exception.
Please don't let our journey deter you from enjoying this beautiful park with its diversity of wildlife. Have a great visit -- just know your limitations and go more prepared than we did !
