Geocache Description:

Placed on Veteran's Day 2011. Should be fairly easy to find. Full of various trinkets and patriotic items. Special Trophy for the FTF!

Recommend driving in via the paved western approach to the trap-shooting range.

We are putting this geocache out in remembrance of our father/father-in-law/grandfather, who was a Veteran of World War II. Vince served from 1941 to 1945 in the U.S Army Air Corps, assigned to the 1596 Ordinance Supply and Maintenance with the 8th Air Force. He returned home to the United States aboard the Queen Mary along with 15,000 other troops. Vince passed away in 2008.

Whenever Vince happened to glance at a digital clock at 11:11, he would comment about the time because he said that the “1s” being together reminded him of a formation of marching soldiers. Now, whenever we happen to glance at the clock and notice that the time is 11:11, we are reminded of Vince.

Therefore, we thought it would be appropriate to put out this geocache in remembrance of Vince and in honor of all of our nation’s “Marching Soldiers,” both past and present, on 11-11-11 (Veteran’s Day, 2011). Thanks to all of you for your service and sacrifice to our great country.
