This cache is in loving memory of Ann Hall, a key figure in the New Jersey beer industry and an inspiring soul.
This nano is located on the premises of a PUBlic establishment on Bridge Street. For any of you seafaring types, the exact location may be more apparent already. It's a highly muggled area, so stealth is certainly required. In addition, be cautious of the traffic as this seemingly quiet little town does actually see a lot of traffic. Be particularly careful near the HONEYSUCKLE when looking for this cache because cars and bicyclists can have a tendency to come out of nowhere.
An Historic Building
With the Borough of Milford celebrating its centennial earlier this year, we chose to place this cache on the premises of one of the last remaining buildings that is truly representative of the town's history.
Although the exterior of the 1860's Victorian building remains largely unchanged, it has operated as many different things over time. Known as The Town Tavern for many years, it was originally a bakery, then an ice cream parlor with a speak-easy in the back room during the Prohibition Era. In the 1950's and sixties, the building housed a two-lane bowling alley and served employees of the now-defunct paper mill. As a result of extensive renovations to the interior in 1985, that bowling alley now serves as the bar top today.
