Geocache Description:

IF YOU ARE GOING FROM GC55K75 Junction Ramble #14 USE THE BRIDGE DO NOT CROSS THE LINE.
This also applies if going from this cache to Junction Ramble # 14.

The cache is a small lock & lock box hidden on the site of the old goods station at Bolton Percy. The site is a nature reserve managed by Yorkshire Wild Life trust.(YWT.org.uk)

This cache was easy to hide, but there is not much vegitation about in November.

The old goods yard has been left for nature to reclaim, there are areas off the track that are sensity,so please keep dogs on a lead and childern under control not least because it is next to a busy railway which has a line speed of 125mph.
The railway still use the area for access and vans and workmen are often on site so leave the gate clear for access.

If you want to photograph trains this is a popular place when the Scarborough Spa Express is running quite a crowd can gather.
During World Wwar 2 one winter night after a heavy snow fall they couldn't get the milk from Brumber Hill Farm which is at the bridge which can be seen to the north, to the dairy in York. Many other farms were in the same situation and the Dairy had to supply milk to the citizens of York.
The dairy manager asked if they could get the milk to Bolton Percy Station the farmer said he could and took the full milk churns from Brumber Hill to Bolton Percy and an express passenger train was stopped to pick up the milk and take it to York.

I would like to thank Yorkshire Wildlife Trust for allowing me to place this cache.
