Dead Men Tell Tales
Four members of the brethren court: Not-so-courageous Lindsey, Smugglin’ Carmen Dawkins, Angelina the Bald, and Rancid Barney Slasher (can you see the irony that three of the brethren are women and zero of them are brothers?) were given valuable information on how to find a cache of the grandest treasure.
 
Three pirate ships sailed the seas pillaging loot from thirty-five merchant ships. Many thought that they were at sea for years, but they said it was as if zero time had passed. It is claimed that they had acquired eight chests full of gold pieces of eight and many other items. The pirate lords of that time believed that dead men tell no tales, so zero of the crew members were allowed to survive. The location of the treasure was thought to have been lost after the execution of every one of the pirate lords by the East Indian Trading Company.
 
Five years later, Lindsey, Carmen, Angelina, and Barney were searching for a place to bury a newly pillaged treasure. They ran across six witches communing with the dead. The witches laughed at their meager loot and said that they new the location of the legendary treasure. They said all they had to do was find the resting place of the pirate Braid Beard. If they could communicate with him, He would tell them the treasures’ location. The pirates asked where to find the pirate Braid Beard. The witches laughed and said that they would give them each a riddle to solve. Not-so-courageous Lindsey, Smugglin’ Carmen Dawkins, Angelina the Bald, and Rancid Barney Slasher were all given a piece of the puzzle, but the witches puzzle remains unsolved six generations later. Each had worked diligently to solve their piece of the puzzle. Some succeeded, but they were never able to derive the final solution. Their descendents now hold the clues to find Braid Beard’s last resting place.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
There may or may not be multiple ways to solve this puzzle. There also may or may not be several “red herrings”. This Cache is a tribute to all great puzzle creators. The pirate names in the puzzle are Braid Beard’s gang’s pirate names created here . If you wish, include yours in your found log. Cap'n Lucy Buttscar, Walt the "Cache"-strapped, and Hester the Disgruntled were the first pirates to unlock the mystery of the legendary treasure. There is still plenty of loot to be claimed.
