The Rec Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

chillypenguin: I checked up on this one today, and sadly I could not find it. It would not be my first DNF on this cache. But I feel the time has come to put this one to bed.

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed next to the gateway into Daventry “Rec”. You are looking for a container similar to a 35mm film canister.

“The Rec” was purchased by public subscription started in 1887 the year of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, and presented to the town in 1892. This gateway was erected in 1916 in the memory of Andrew Alexander Brown. It was once the location of a Steam train from Byfield Stone quarry, which was moved there in 1965 when the quarry closed. The nearby supermarket was once the location of the Stead & Simpson shoe factory, one of the last shoe manufacturers in Daventry.
