Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates. In order to find this cache you will need to solve the highway design problem below.

Welcome to the world of civil engineering. The following highway design problem involves some relatively easy calculations, at least for a civil engineer:

A crest vertical curve with a length of 600ft connects grades of 2% and -11.82%. The vertex is located at station 24+00 and elevation 46.084ft.

To solve for the North Coordinate you must calculate the elevation of the EVC (also known as the end of the vertical curve) and plug your answer (accurate to three decimal places) into N43 --.---

To solve for the West Coordinate you must calculate the elevation of the BVC (also known as the beginning of the vertical curve) and plug your answer (accurate to three decimal places) into W073 --.---
