Geocache Description:

This cache holds information to find Bittner Trails Mystery Cache. Attached to the log book you will find one half of the Mystery Cache coords and also a Code Word you will need along the way, Please study the information closely. The other half of the Mystery Cache coords are located in THT - Bittner Trails #2

Bittner Park is Guilford’s largest park and one of its most popular. It contains 15 acres of active recreation area and 126 acres of passive areas. Active area consists of a playground, one lighted softball field, three little league fields, a jogging/walking path, one lighted soccer field, roller sports complex, ice rink, fishing access, rest rooms, concession stand and more. Passive area contains year-round horseback riding trails, jogging trails and acres of woodlands to hike and walk and cross-country ski.

The Bittner Park Trails include many wetland areas and small bridges along the West River. Good hiking shoes are recommended as areas may generally be muddy and especially so during the rainy season. The trail passes through a secessional forest through newer Cedars, a high canopy combination of local deciduous trees (oaks, hickories, maples, and birch), understory shrubs, and intermittent ground cover. Bird watching opportunities are plentiful. The upland trails also have a seasonal waterfall. Over the years, the Bittner Park Trails have been installed and maintained by a number of local volunteers in conjunction with the ongoing efforts of local boy scout projects.

This cache starts at the Scott C. Carey Trout Trail and takes you on a nice walk to the river. When you find the cache, you will find half of the information you will need to find Bittner Trails Mystery Cache. You will also have to find THT - Bittner Trails #2 to find the other half needed.

Good Luck and please hide the cache exactly as found.

Congratulations to Firefighter Skippy for the FTF!!
