The Trail:
The Gairloch trail is a 6km loop that will really surprise you with the variety of terrain and vegetation. It is a relative open trail with moderate drops and climbs. The trail has very few wet spots. It can be done by anyone that can walk this kind of distance with some moderate terrain difficulty. Mountain bikers can do the trail on their bike. I have done a multitude of trails and so far this is my favorite one. It is well used and maintained. It looks like this trail would be well suited for snow showing as long as you have the legs. A word of caution though, if you want to attempt this by yourself please tell someone where you going.
The Caches:
The Caches are part of the Gairloch Multi & Gairloch Challenge Caches. The caches are place on the main trail, are easy accessible and at best a few meters of the trail with very minimal bushwhacking involved. The caches are all winter friendly. However you are hunting for these caches at your own risk. You can find the final location for the multi cache and the challenge cache after you done the trail just a few hundred meters from the parking coordinates.
Note: To keep this series alive please ensure that caches are returned and placed securely after logging. Each cache will have a clue to eventually find the multi. The clue is in the cache as well as marked inside the cover. Please ensure the clues are put back into the cache.
