Geocache Description:

A small plastic container placed in designated open land in Cumberland. Please take the long way around, and don't cut through the woods adjacent to the road!

Schofield Farm is an area of land owned by the Town of Cumberland, RI. It is located on Nate Whipple Highway and Little Pond County Road, west of the intersection with Diamond Hill Road. The rolling field is full of grass beneath a wide open sky, and bounded on three sides by houses.

In 2008, the field was the site of a crash landing by a small plane.

The cache has a logbook, a small pencil, and is set up with small toys suitable for kids. The FTF and STF get small souvenir pins of a Heinz pickle or Heinz "57 flavors" ketchup bottle.

There are two places where you can park and get through the fence; be careful to pull your car all the way off the road. There is a driveway in the lot to the east, but that is private property (there used to be a house there) and should not be used.

The field is rather rough, though entirely suitable for walking. Watch out for deer poop on the ground: they really like the sheltered area at the east end! It's a pretty straightforward hide, but I made it a higher rating because of the bad GPSr reception: my readings were plus/minus 23' over 150 samples.
