Cache is located in Hungry Mother State Park a short distance from Marion VA on state route 16.

This cache as the name applies is located just off the Ridge Trail (Green Blazes) close to where the Lake Trail intersects with it. The terrain isn’t steep at all at GZ and should be enjoyed by all cachers’. A storm moved through this area in late spring and toppled a huge oak. You won’t have to cross this tree unless you are bushwhacking from above. Please replace the container as well as you found it or even better for the enjoyment of the next cacher.

Note:
In all Virginia state parks you have to have permission to hide a geocache. Stop by the Headquarters building in the park and ask to talk to the official in charge of reviewing the Geocache Placement Application you will have to obtain from them. Let them be aware of your desire to hide and maintain a geocache in the park. Most parks may ask you to “not” make the cache for Premium members to allow the general public the opportunity to hunt while visiting the park. All my caches have been placed by permission at Hungry Mother State Park.
