The cache itself is a small tupperware box and should present no difficulty to find. Reasonably safe roadside parking is available within 50m of the coordinates which will allow you to pull off what can be a busy road.
Looking East from the cache you will see just beyond the far hedge in the field the distinctive mound that scream Motte.
It is good Norman motte with a well preserved bailey. There is a hole on the top which is a result of excavations carried out in the 1860s. A stone lined passage leading nowhere was found as well as a bronze axe of c. 1600 B.C. and a piece of bronze with a Viking inscription.
Unfortunately it is on private land and cannot be visited. The land owner is also allowing the trees/hedge to grow so the view of the site is reducing year on year.
