Geocache Description:

On March 29th, 2012 rickrich found his 6000th cache (GC34FYA Loran - C). Rick is a fantastic cache finder and hider (he's hidden 322 caches!). So Rick, this cache is for you! There is Swag and trackables at the time of publish. Please leave the first to find for Rick! Thanks!

Congratulations rickrich from....

mnfishnutz: Congratulations rickrich on 6000 finds! (Will write more later!)

incredible magpie: "RR is pretty much responsible for me getting caught up in this silly game. I ran into him at Gale Woods Park while just roaming around way back in September of 2007. We chatted a bit and he told me he was geocaching. He pointed the other "unsavory" characters wandering by noting that too were cachers! I was intrigued by all the skullduggery and logged on that night and found one without any fancy treasure finding device within a few days, right in my hometown!
I have run into the infamous RR only a few times in the wild, most usually at The Halloween Hoopla or other events. I cut my teeth on his caches all over the western suburbs. Made attempts on most of his puzzles, some with success, others I am still working on. I have followed his logs from his early days when he cached with his kids and "non-linear" to the present.
Times change but the games the same.

Congratulations on Finding 6k RR, Thanks for Fun!"

pfalsted: "I first met rickrich at a FTF attempt a few blocks from my house, and
I've met him at many other FTF attempts afterwards. It's always fun
finding a rickrich cache, because you know you're getting a solid hide
in an interesting spot that is well maintained. His puzzles are
always enjoyable as well, challenging but with a clear path to a
solution. I geo-stalked rickrich, finding 176 of his hides, and only
a few of them were altoids tins, and maybe one bridge? So those jokes
about all of his caches being altoids tins under bridges are a bit
dated. :) I have fond memories of the Bikeathon series and the
Jidana caches, especially the Minnehaha Creek islands which I found in
November!

Lately I've collaborated with him on solutions of some nasty puzzles,
which has been fun, although he always makes me look bad with his
polished C programs, so elegantly formatted and commented, in
comparison to mine which look like something a college student wrote
at 3am the night before. Congrats rickrich!"

Quiltingisfuntoo: "My best memory of rickrich is the day that I got to cache with him at a FTF try on one of the Hard Hat series. It was at the Boys of Summer - Angels back in April of 2009 and I had stopped on my way into work to find rickrich and mystagogic talking in the parking lot. Mystagogic had DNFd the cache the night before with mnfishnutz and was back in the morning but had to get to work so rickrich and I headed to GZ together. I'll never forget how he found GZ and then placed his backpack there. Then we started to search in all of the beacons around the backpack, using it to make sure we did it systemically. I finally had to call off my search and head into work myself - it was hard to do but... Rickrich stayed and later posted his FTF log on the cache which he found 79 feet from GZ AND his backpack. His log shows that he had fun even after I had gone: "FTF at 10AM. Ran into mystagogic and chatted in the parking lot. Cached with Quilting is fun too, but she had to get to work. Coords off by 79 feet. I placed a gigantic teepee where GZ is!" When I went back later to turn the frown into a smiley, what do I find but a gigantic stick teepee where the backpack had been - it made me smile yet again. It was great searching with a geocaching legend!

Congrats, rickrich, on your milestone of 6,000 caches! Yahoo, way to go! 10,000 is right around the corner, hope to see you reach it soon!"

pippin and merry: "We met rickrich early in our caching "career". We met him at our first Breakfast buddies. We chatted about caching and he showed us his plans to hide caches in the Richfield area that day because he had already found all of them in the area. We asked him about a hide of his that we were having trouble locating and he offered up some advice. We don't do many FTF runs, but on a couple occasions we have met up with him. We frequently share ideas and hints on solving puzzle caches. Rick has been a wonderful asset to the caching community with his many hides. Years after we started geocaching, we discovered that Rick actually introduced us to the sport. The car I saw with a "Geocaching" bumper sticker in a parking lot at work was his. Thanks Rick for spreading the word!"
