Acesta este locul unde a avut loc Batalia de la Vaslui, mentionata uneori drept Batalia de la Podul Înalt, în data de 10 ianuarie 1475, intre armatele aliate crestine moldo-maghiaro-polone sub comanda lui Stefan cel Mare si oastea otomano-munteana sub conducerea lui Suleiman Pasa. Trupele otomane, cca 120,000 oameni, au infruntat trupele conduse de Stefan cel Mare, constand in 40,000 moldoveni plus 8,800 aliati.
Stefan cel Mare a infrant armata Otomana, aceasta batalie fiind considerata drept "cea mai mare victorie a Crestinsmului contra Islamului", soldandu-se cu peste 40,000 de morti in partea Otomana.

This is the place where The Battle of Vaslui, also referred to as the Battle of Podul Înalt, was fought on January 10, 1475 between Stephen III of Moldavia and the Ottoman Beylerbey of Rumelia, Hadân Suleiman Pasha. The Ottoman troops numbered up to 120,000, facing about 40,000 Moldavian troops, plus 8,800 allied and mercenary troops.
Stephen inflicted on the Ottomans a decisive defeat that has been described as "the greatest ever secured by the Cross against Islam," with casualties reaching beyond 40,000 on the Ottoman side.
