Geocache Description:

This cache is the final in the "Checkmate" series. KING is a traditional cache that can only be found using the clues from the other 5 caches in the series (Pawn, Rook, Knight, Bishop & Queen). To find the king, go to these coordinates 40 30.9AB -075 33.CDE. Standing at the obvious original hiding spot, face due north and walk approximately 760 feet(staying to the east side of the creek). If you reach the "borough of macungie trail" bear symbol, you have just passed the final cache area.

In honor of our 6 year-old son, who just learned to play chess, we created the "Checkmate" series. Once you have found the caches named for the other 5 pieces in the game of chess, you will have the coordinates that will lead you in the right direction to find the King.

The KING cache is a traditional cache and contains a log, golf pencil, and small trade items. You may need a creative approach to access it. We relocated it to this area after a number of muggle vandalism incidents. Hopefully it will stay safe in its new spot. Plus, the extra step in finding it should make it an interesting end to the series.

The series is also part of our effort to repopulate the Macungie area after nearly all of the caches were archived.

Enjoy!
