Geocache Description:

Napier Hall was built in 1957, one of the later local district halls. It was the result of much fundraising by the locals from 1945 onwards. The bricks were made on a local property and the cartage of materials and the building itself was undertaken by the locals over a period of seven months – a wonderful show of initiative and hard work by all those involved.

The hall is presently used for community gatherings of all kinds, including tennis. It was one of the best places for old time dances on a Saturday night in the sixties and seventies, with live dance bands, yummy suppers provided by the local ladies, the occasional nip of green ginger wine out the back (haven’t drunk it since!) and the kids sleeping peacefully in the cars while parents danced the night away.

Care needs to be taken when reversing out of this site as it is on a very sharp corner with grain trucks racing through, and, if there are muggles in sight, best to give it a miss altogether. Please replace cache carefully without putting it too far in or it will get “stuck”.

You will need your own pen/pencil and there are scratchies for the FTF. Have fun!
