Frinton Park Estate - Pedlars Wood Multi-Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

RachelnRedd: Due to huge vegetation growth added to lack of cutting by the council, this cache is still there but about 6 foot deep into the shrubbery.
Disabling while I retrieve it and move it slightly to be more easily accessible.

Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches placed in an area I love, because I grew up here, spending many happy hours playing in these woods. My childhood home is nearby and my mum has been here over 50 years, since her bungalow was built by my late father.

The cache is not at the given co-ordinates, so you will need to take a walk round the woodland walk on the Frinton side, and gather the necessary information, to work out the numbers for the correct co -ordinates.

Pedlars Wood is a private nature reserve located between Frinton on Sea and Walton on the Naze. The woodland walk on the Frinton side is open to the public whilst an educational nature trail on the Walton side can be visited by appointment.

Frinton Park Court, (demolished April 2015) stood at the foot of the railway bridge, and was part of a planned shopping mall built in 1935, standing on the corner of Central Avenue and Walton Road. The shops, including a dress shop and a bakery, opened here for nearly ten months before closing due to complete lack of business. It was then taken over by the War Department and the ground floor shops were converted to a hall with the large windows being bricked up. It is also reported to have been used as a cinema and temple at one stage. I walked over the railway bridge to school as a child, and in the summer holidays played here, sometimes picking mum some primroses, (I often pulled them up by the roots... thats how some are still living outside the woods today!)

Parking on the Walton Road is recommended. A walk through Pedlars Woods and you will find it is a well looked after pathway. Enter by the gate and take 'Steven's way' through the trees, it goes almost, but not quite to the railway line. Pedlars Wood Nature Reserve won 'The Wildwatch Award' in 1989. With its varieties of flora and fauna, this is a lovely place for a short circuit walk. Stick to the bark trail routes as much as possible. There are signs requesting that you do not pick the wild flowers, but leave them for others to enjoy. I hope that you enjoy your walk, and see some of the beauty I have enjoyed for many years. Please ensure you hide the cache well after signing.

To find the cache, enter through the metal six-barred gate and find the bench a few metres in from the gate.

A = the number of words on the bench

Now walk another 13 metres along the path. There is a memorial stone low on your left.

B = the number of words on the bottom row

C = the number of 6's on the Stone

D = the number of years' difference in the two birth dates shown

E = the number of letters in the man's first name PLUS the number of letters in the woman's first name

The cache is to be found at N 51 50.BCD  E 01 15.AEA
