Regular sized winter-friendly cache.
This cache was placed (finally) after having to be removed from a restricted area in town. We have had this cache to hide for some time now but wanted it to be a winter-friendly cache and close enough to home so we could monitor it easily.
The cache is located along the Metacomet Trail in Suffield, CT and not far from the state line with Massachusetts where the trail becomes the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail. Best place to park is at the intersection of Phelps and Mountain Roads (Mountain Road is route 168). We have hiked this trail in all weather including sub-zero when it was too cold to ski. It should be a good winter snowshoe hike. Along the way to this cache, which is close to the marked trail, you should be able to grab a couple of others. This one is a 6” x 6” x 2” lock-n-lock covered with brown tape.
