Located near the Sunnyside Paddling Park.
** DO NOT PARK ALONG THE ROAD ** THERE ARE SEVERAL OFFICIAL PARKING AREAS NEAR BY **
This cache is located along Spring Creek in the area of the Sunnyside Paddling Park. Throughout the year there are multiple slalom races held in the creek. Also this section is used year round as a training site for local slalom and white water paddlers.
The park was renovated by a combined effort of Bellefonte Boro, Tussey Mountain Outfitters, The local National Slalom Association members, PA Fish and Boat Commission, Penn State Outing Club, Mach One Slalom Team and many volunteers. The main park is accessible from Sunnyside Blvd (located on the other side of the creek). This section is still part of the park and is open to the public.
There are a few ways to access this section, please start by parking either at the posted parking area or at any other official parking area near by. DO NOT PARK ALONG THE STREET!
Parking can be found along the gravel maintenance road, access is tight, but should not be a problem for most vehicles. Access is located near the Bellefonte Water Treatment Plant. There is a gate, but it should be always open, you are welcome to drive down the gravel road, but be warned there is very limited room to turn around and park at the end (1-2 vehicles at the most).
Alternate parking can be found at the Pacific Pride station (Walk down the gated access road nearby) OR at Tussey Mountain Outfitters (follow trail along creek).
It is up to you as to where you park, just please be respectful of local businesses and others using the area.
