A small gathering to celebrate Christmas and Geocaching. The event
will be held in the meeting room at Kings Christian Bookstore in
Boone, Iowa starting at 7:00 pm on Friday, December
16.
At this time of the year, we are reminded
that it is better to give, than receive. In that spirit, we are
hosting a casual get-together where everyone can have the chance to
both give and receive.
Exchange Gift
Guidelines
1. Please provide nice, geocaching-related items
for exchange, such as: unactivated geocoins, unactivated travelbug
tags, good-quality geocache containers, a handful of pathtags, a
new flashlight, camo tape, your brother's GPS:), good-quality swag
items, or some other geo-gift. Malcolm, a partridge in a
pear tree is not a geo-related item.
2. Please bring your exchange item in a sealed paper bag so that it
cannot be identified until the bag is opened by the
recipient.
3. We encourage you to decorate the paper bag in the festive spirit
of Christmas, but also feel free to decorate the paper bag in a way
that cleverly disguises what's inside.
4. You're welcome to bring more than one gift and exchange for the
same number that you bring, or you can donate items to be used as
door prizes.
Only those who provide a geo-gift to exchange
will be allowed to receive a gift.
There will probably be some new permanent
caches released for the event, but only people who sign up for the
event (submit a "Will Attend" log by
noon of the day of the event) will be allowed to hunt for caches
on the night of the event. As with all of our events,
"Divide-and-conquer-style" team caching will not be allowed when
seeking the new permanent caches released during this event. If you
cache as a team, all members of your team who are caching must be
together at each cache when you sign the log.
We will provide Christmas bars and cookies,
as well as, hot apple cider. Kings Bookstore cafe' also sells a
variety of smoothies, coffees, Italian sodas, hot cocoas, etc. The
Bookstore cafe' menu is shown in the attached picture
below.
