Geocache Description:

You can drive to within 20' of this Bison Tube cache.

This is our second attempt at our first cache named after our Geo-Chihuahua Octane. Our first position was in the Desert Reserve north of St. George near a benchmark disk, but was still in the Lowland Zone. We liked the idea of finding a benchmark with a cache and most benchmarks we have found are already near caches. So we decided to go with the Section Corner Disk WMD487 that can be found on Waymarking.com. Waymarking is a new thing we do in conjunction to geocaching that is also run by Groundspeak so you already have a login, just use your Geocaching.com info and you will be set to add some more fun things to your geocaching experience. Desert Rat discovered this disk over 12 years ago while on a dirt bike ride. He has seen it several times, but didn't know what it was or what to do with it until we started looking for benchmarks. Soon we were finding survey disks that weren't connected to Geocaching.com benchmarks, so we searched for answers and found Waymarking.com which doesn't limit what is considered a waymark. Surely this disk has been seen by several people over the course of 102 years, but we found no record of it. So it was time to add it to the list of waymarks for all the explorers and hunters to find. So if you want to add sights and places to your adventure, add a waymark or two in your GPSr. Cache on our friends.
