Geocache Description:

This is my second cache placement and #2 in my "Famous Bridge" series.

This one is a nod to the 1957 classic WWII movie "The Bridge on the River Kwai" starring Sir Alec Guinness (Star Wars; A Passage to India) and William Holden (Stalag 17; the 1967 Casino Royale; The Towering Inferno).

The story: After settling his differences with a Japanese POW camp commander, a British colonel co-operates to oversee his mens construction of a railway bridge for their captors - while oblivious to a plan by the Allies to destroy it.

This 1957 movie garnered 7 Oscars including Best Picture, Best Actor (Sir Alec Guinness) and Best Music, along with 23 other wins (including several Golden Globe Awards and a Grammy) and 5 other nominations.

Apparently, the Allies were quite successful in destroying the bridge, because you'll quickly discover that there is no bridge at this location, and the river has become a small creek. I guess thats "progress"!

This is an easy PNG. It is located on public property, though I've talked to the people at the business adjacent to this location to let them know to expect increased traffic. They thought it was a fine idea, but have asked us not to park in their parking lot. There is legal parking a few yards down the street.

There is nothing illegal about night-caching here, but due to the location, I'm not sure I would recommend night caching. Unless you don't mind trying to explain GeoCaching to the local Police.

Have fun and cache on...
