This, our very first cache, is placed in honor of the 100th year anniversary of Girl Scouts in the USA. Girls from our younger sister troop (PandasPansies) and our leaders (Team Barn Owls) helped us plant this cache.
We would like to thank Irene of The StarCachers for her help in setting up this cache. Thank you Irene for living the Girl Scout Law.

M.S.S. CONCHILLA, "The Ship of the Little Shell", is a Mariner Girl Scout troop based in the desert near Palm Springs. The girls in our troop are in the 6th - 12th grades. Along with the badges, Journeys, leadership, and service that most Girl Scout Troops do we also take part in the tradtional Mariner Girl Scout program. We go canoeing, kayaking, and sailing in our 22 foot sloop. We learn nautical skills such as semaphore, morse code, code flags, knots, first aid, flag etiquette, relative bearing, marching, boating terms, and sea chanties. Every May our high school girls compete with other Mariner troops in an annual competition called GAM. We camp on the beach, and compete in 25 different events during the weekend. Our troop's specialty is knots - by the time we go to GAM all of our girls can tie 10 different knots in less than 90 seconds!
