Find this cache on Brava’s highest point, the Fontainhas (976m high).
Find this cache on Brava’s highest point, the Fontainhas (976m high). From there you can see down into a Caldeira and far to the sea.
To climb the mountain no specific equipment is needed – just be prepared to walk steep uphill starting from Nova Sintra or Mato.
Enjoy the most beautiful landscape of Brava – maybe you might want to walk down to Cachaco and buy some local goat cheese or have a cool beer in the small shop at the end of the main road?
Weather up Fontainhas can be very cold, windy and foggy – so take a windbreaker and a warm sweater with you! It is also recommended to wear long trousers made out of strong fabric as the last 300meters the path is nearly invisible and you will be scratched by the branches of all the bushes growing “on” the path…
