Cramerton: Baltimore Borough Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

plasticsey: It doesn't look like the bridge is going to be repaired, so for safety's sake I'm taking down this cache. It's a really neat spot and I hate to archive it, but if access is improved I'll be sure to bring it back. Thanks for your visits!

Geocache Description:

The neighborhood on the hill above was known as Baltimore (one of Cramerton's original 5 neighborhoods). Built in the 1920s, during segregation, this neighborhood was set apart for the African American community.

In 1927, Cramerton Golf Club was opened with access from Patterson Rd. However, the golf course closed down long ago and little evidence remains.

The cache can be reached directly on the access road, but if you're uncomfortable crossing the old bridge you can also reach GZ by looping around via Baltimore Drive to Patterson Rd. Container has room for small items.

UPDATE 2/10/12: I just heard the bridge was closed, so you may need to access the cache via Baltimore Dr. I am not sure if the bridge is passable on foot, so please use caution!
