This event will be held in Harold and Thelma's basement upstairs at
Cheri O's. That will all make perfect sense, once you are near the
coordinates, not far from the intersection of Silver and 14th
Streets in Ashland.
Time: 9:00-ish to 11:00-ish. That's AM and CST, of
course.
It is surprising how many geocachers found their way upstairs to
the basement. It must take a special kind of geo-logic to do so.
Therefore, we’ll keep this up every first Saturday of every
month henceforth and forevermore.
There is one flight of stairs
to climb, thus the terrain rating of 1.5.
Ashland was known as Saline
Ford in the 1840s and 50s. This was the only natural rock-bottom
ford of Salt Creek between the future site of Lincoln and the
Platte River. It was used by the military and settlers moving west
who preferred the south side of the Platte River Road.
Somewhat organized by proud Nebraskache Members
