This canal footpath (part of the Taff trail) runs alongside the nearby food store, which was built on the old Brown Lenox site.
The cache is placed at near Nightingales Bush cottages there’s no need to get wet to find any of the caches hidden in this little series. Please take care and watch for muggles, replace the cache so that it is hidden but still accessible.
Further works are planned for the canal including:
- The recovery of the original canal line and the re-establishment of the original western towpath.
- The recovery of the original basin area.
- The uncovering of the whole canal bed thus connecting the basin and the Nightingales Bush section.
- The clearing of the canal bed north of Nightingales Bush.
- Dredging the canal to give it the appearance of the original section.
You will pass original canal cottages and over a concrete bridge, you will notice to the right that the canal overflow passes under the roadway and down under the A470 and to discharge into the taff.
Information about the canal can be found at www.pontypriddcanalconservation.com
There is NO access to the canal from ANY of the superstores that run alongside the canal.
