We have booked in at Old Station ~ Caravan & Camping Site, situated in Yorkshire on the edge of the picturesque Bedale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and only a short walk (less than a mile) to the centre of the splendid village of Masham. There are excellent local facilities including modern heated toilets and washrooms/showers and the Goods Shed cafe serving reasonably priced food. There are however, very few hook ups available on the main site and none at all if we get enough bookings for the large rally field across the road.
The site is easily accessible by road just a few miles from A1 but as their website tells you - Here., there are some disruptions until mid 2012 due to road improvements of the A1. For those of you who do not like the idea of camping (I can't understand why), the village does have a number of self catering cottages and B&Bs that you can book.
The Saturday BBQ main event will be held at 7:00pm and will have a Heroes and Villains theme (start sorting out your costumes now) to which all cachers are welcome. Micky will add details about this later as she comes up with more insane ideas!!
Please bring your own food for the BBQ and if you can, a BBQ, although if you can't manage a BBQ there will be plenty around that you will be able to share.
If you intend to come to this event please can you log your intentions below, and please include whether you are camping, which nights you are camping and how many are in your party and how many are children. Book directly with the campsite please and tell them you are with the Geocaching crowd. We are organising a Brewery run to the Black Sheep Brewery at 4pm on Saturday afternoon and costing £5 per adult (no children) but there are only 25 places available, so its first come first served. Book with Jollyjax via his profile please - unless you appear on the webpage below - you havent got a place yet! We will collect the money on the day.
