Troop 33 Eagle Project Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

NorthVandea: Haven't had a chance to replace this geocache. Unfortunately I'm not likely to have a chance any time soon. Archiving the cache, perhaps in the future I'll have an opportunity to place a new one in the area. Hope everyone enjoyed it!

Geocache Description:

This cache marks the landmark achievement of earning the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 33. This Scout's service project involved planning and building the trail head, trail, and elevated walkway that you will cross to reach this cache. Limited parking is available at the intersection of Metcalf Road and Ellis Road in North Attleboro. DO NOT DRIVE ON THE FIELD!! YOU WILL SINK IN THE MUD! Congrats to Twohig260 for FTF!

This cache is on the Chorney Property, a joint conservation project between the Town of North Attleboro and the state of Mass. The property consists of three fields connected by two trails and is open to the public. Hunting does occur in the area, so fluorescent orange is recommended in the hunting seasons. The Scout who conducted this service project planned out a trail around the perimeter of the fields marked by posts with a hiker symbol on them. The project also consisted of planning and building the elevated foot bridge between the first two fields. This area is always muddy despite the bridge, and water-proof boots are highly recommended. The North Attleboro Conservation Commission is currently working on plans for an actual parking lot in addition to the limited on-street parking.
