Winter Solstice Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GPS_David: I was informed by the park that only one geocache is allowed in the park and paper work must be submitted for any geocaches left in the park.
Since there is already a geocache in the park, I am pulling all of mine.

Geocache Description:

The days are short, the nights are long but the Winter Solstice changes all of that. This year the Winter Solstice is December 22nd.
You are seeking a regular size lock and lock at Ferrettie/Baugo Creek Park

You may notice that as we leave Summer and head into the Autumn, the days seem to get shorter and the nights get longer. As we head from fall into winter, it seems we wake up in darkness and come home from work in the darkness. Where did the sun go?

You may see "Winter Solstice" on your calendar and ask, What is it?. This date is considered the longest night of the year. It also signifies the nights will gradually become shorter and the days will gradually become longer! It is a celestial event in which many holidays and celebrations are derived from, most of these holidays or celebrations involve a rebirth.
