If you're a local geocacher, chances are you've been to Rocky Barrens to find one of the oldest still active caches in our area (Rocky Barrens, GC47B9). Now here's a reason to walk back down that hill to the Little Sac River once again.
It is right at 1 mile from the parking coordinates down to the cache (so a 2 mile round-trip hike). You will have a short bushwhacking experience to get to GZ. Watch out for thorns and other hazards. You are looking for a traditional ammo can, filled with trade items, a logbook, and a pen. You may want to bring your own pen, though, in case the one in the cache turns up missing. After replacing, please re-cover the cache with sticks.
***Area is closed between 10 pm and 4 am. Please do not attempt this cache during those hours.***
