Geocache Description:

Treviglas College - CITO Event 05 - 03/03/2012 Cache-In Trash-Out Event
This event is a litter collection exercise across the West Moor area of Bodmin Moor. (This event has been cleared with the Commoners association).

The event encourages individuals to undertake litter collecting across the moorland area, on Saturday 3rd March 2012, between 10.30am and 2.30pm (Four hour window).

Defined features on the moor, which are areas of outstanding natural beauty are worth visiting, (and are being targeted for litter collection) are:
The Beacon(369m), Buttern Tor(346m), Bray Tor(346m), Leskerwick Hill(329m) and Hendra Downs.
There are however several other features on the moor, including Cairns, Cists, Settlements and Stone Circles which are amazing features.

During the time frame of this CITO Event, three teams of students from Treviglas Community College will be out walking on the moor. These teams are undertaking a practise walk as part of their Gold Expedition section of their Duke of Edinburgh's Award. These groups will be walking from Davidstowe Moor accross West Moor towards Webb's Down during the course of the day. They have several Geo-Cachers as members, will be carrying at least one Travel-Bug (Copy Tag) per team (Please ask to see the TB), and will be collecting litter along the way.

Please enjoy your walk, collect litter along the way, and enjoy the scenery, and support the Commoners Association by the removal of litter left by other inconsiderate moorland users.

For safety, it is advisable to ensure that you undertake the following prior to going onto the moor:
a). Ensure you are properly clothed and equipped.
b). Make sure you have a mobile phone, map & compass.
c). Always let someone know where you are going.
d). We advise you avoid the Source of the River Fowey.
e). Read all the Geocaching.com CITO information.
f). Remove all the litter you have collected.
g). No liability is accepted by the organisers.
h). Light rain/drizzle/mist will not cancel the event.

NOTE:
To varify you have attended the event, you must sign the CITO log book, on the day of the event itself, between 10.30am and 2.30pm. This log book will be located in a well marked 'lock and lock box' which will be placed under a large orange/red roadcone. This roadcone will also house a small supply of gloves and bin-bags to assit with the CITO event. The roadcone itself will be situated at Westmoorgate, where the unclassified road ends and the footpath to the moor starts. Basically look for the cone when the road stops !

This is very much seen as a 'Do it yourself CITO event', and whilst the college students will be collecting litter across the moor, you are welcome to dip-in/dip-out where-ever and when-ever you like. Feel free to collect as much or as little litter as you like, and if you want to meet-up with one of our teams then thanks great, if not, no worries, just enjoy the more, take in a couple of caches whilst you are in the area and remove a little litter, and take it home with you.

Update 02/03 - Rain will not stop play - The event will continue regardless of rain/drizzle etc.
