Geocache Description:

Welcome to Clover, VA Slow down and take in the beauty of a once thriving town. My grandparents lived in Clover, owning and operating a general store where now the Post Office is located. With my cousins, I spent many days playing on the rails and nights running around a graveyard.
Clover was an incorporated town from 1895 until 1998, when it reverted to unincorporated status. In 1930 this bridge was built for travel over the Staunton River. Due to continuous flood damage, the bridge was closed in 2008. You can drive to the barricade and take a nice stroll up the road to the old abandoned bridge. Look out for wildlife and their habitats, such as beavers.
Staunton River Battlefield Park is also close to this cache.
The sites in Clover make a wonderful day trip. Pack a picnic.

CONGRATULATIONS to Chase-N-Us2 for the FTF!!
