Geocache Description:

I don't recommend climbing on this structure and you won’t need to in order to find this cache.

This trestle used to carry the now defunct Chicago and North Western train line. This trestle spans 400 feet across a ravine made by this southern branch of Miller Creek.
Chartered on June 7, 1859 (pre-civil war), the C&NW became one of the longest railroads in the USA as a result of mergers with other railroads, such as the Chicago Great Western Railway, Minneapolis and St. Louis Railway. By 1995, track sales and abandonment had reduced the total mileage back to about 5,000. The company was purchased by Union Pacific Railroad in April 1995 and C&NW ceased to exist. This particular track provided rail service from the Twin Cities to Kansas City.
