Easy area for cache hunting, and moderately sloping terrain. Parking is available relatively near the cache, although a short walk along a groomed trail is required. You're looking for a small black bison tube. Bring your own pen to sign the log.
This park is also known as the "duck pond" to the neighborhood locals. The first house my wife and I ever owned is adjacent to this park, so it holds a special place in our hearts for the years we spent here. During that time, we were friends with Shirley McDonald, whom the park is named after. She lived nearby, and was out here almost every day feeding the ducks and geese. She loved to teach our kids and other visitors to the park about the different types of water fowl which call this place home.
There are some nice scenic views in this park and interesting things to look at. I placed this cache near a particular limestone formation that I think is one of its more unique features.
NOTE: The posted operating hours of the park are from 6a-11p every day.
