Dirt road off Sycamore Cyn will bring you to the bottom of the hill. To get within 3/4 of a mile you will need a high clearance vehicle and beyond that to the end of the road a 4wd vehicle. The terraine walking up the hill is where the difficulty rating comes in. Up on top you can see the giant slag pile caused by the smelting of the mines up on Cleopatra Hill around Jerome. Slag has had a variety of uses for as long as there was mines to produce it. It was used in glassware products, jewelry, cement, glazes for ceramic ware, and in the early 20th century it was made into glass for lamps called agate glass or slag glass.
Another nice hill to gaze about the Verde Valley area.
