Nenárocná keš, která má ukázat jednu památku Vlachova Brezí
Židovský hrbitov ve Vlachove Brezí se nachází na severním okraji mesta Vlachovo Brezí, okres Prachatice. Prístupný je malou cestickou z ohybu Komenského ulice pred základní školou nebo po ulici a pozdeji polní ceste odbocující doleva kolem knihovny z Pražské silnice na Újezdec. Hrbitov, který má rozlohu 1378 m2 byl založen pred rokem 1692 a poslední pohreb se zde konal roku 1932. Do okupace se o hrbitov starala židovská obec ve Volyni. Pokud se ješte vrátíme k životu židovské komunity ve Vlachove Brezí, tak ta zde žila v dobe okolo roku 1830 a cítala zhruba 130 clenu. Pozdeji však zacala upadat a samostatná náboženská obec tohoto mesta zanikla v roce 1890. Poslední clenové se pak ješte spojili se židovskou obcí v nedaleké Volyni. Na pocátku 2. Svetové války zustala ve Vlachove Brezí pouze rodina Ledereru, jejíž obe deti unikly jisté smrti vcasným odjezdem do Dánska. Z dospelých clenu rodiny pak neprežil hruzy koncentracního tábora nikdo. Zdejší židovská komunita prestala existovat podle zákona z roku 1890. Elegií osamelosti a zapomnení, jak pusobí starý židovský hrbitov ze 17. století, který v klazure nicím nerušeného ticha mrtvých pripomíná návštevníkovi hebrejskými, nemeckými a ceskými nápisy, že v meste kdysi také žili potomci Izraele, že predstavovali pocetnou náboženskou obec, která mela i svoji synagogu.V roce 1958 byl hrbitov, na nemž se zachovalo asi 170 náhrobku (nejstarší citelný je z roku 1729), vyhlášen kulturní památkou. Na hrbitove se dochoval hodnotný soubor barokních, klasicistních a novodobých náhrobku. Od doby nemecké okupace však hrbitov pustl, byl poškozován a vykrádán vandaly a z jeho márnice zbyla ruina. V letech 1987 – 1999 byl hrbitov nákladem a pécí Obecního úradu (dríve MNV), Okresního úradu (dríve ONV) v Prachaticích a Židovské obce v Praze, jeho nynejšího majitele, opraven. Márnice byla rekonstruována jen cástecne, symbolicky. Hrbitov je tak zaplnen zhruba z poloviny. Z márnice ci vozovny zustaly již jen základy obvodového zdiva. Na kamenné bráne stojí nápis: Mene, tekel... volá cas, zde se sejdem všichni zas. K poli mrtvých, kde je klid, s úctou vzhlížej všechen lid. Na pozemku hrbitova rostou také dva památné stromy. [EN] An easy cache to show you one of the historic monuments of Vlachovo Brezi. The Jewish cemetery is located in the northern part of the town of Vlachovo Brezi, in Prachatice district. The cemetery is accessible via narrow lane by the elementary school on the Komenského Street or via dirt road turning left by the library from the Prague road to Újezdec. The cemetery, established before 1692, covers an area of 1378 m2 and the last funeral here took place in 1932. Until the occupation the Jewish community of Volyne took care of the cemetery. Around 1830 the Jewish community started in Vlachovo Brezi and had about 130 members. Later, however, began to decline and as an independent religious community came to an end in 1890. Remaining members joined the Jewish community of nearby Volyne. By the beginning of the WW II the only family to remain in Vlachovo Brezi was the Lederers whose two children escaped certain death by an early departure to Denmark. None of the adult members of the family survived the horrors of concentration camp. The local Jewish community ceased to exist under the Act from 1890. The elegy of loneliness and oblivion - as the 17th century cemetery feels – the undisturbed silence of the deceased reminds the visitor in Hebrew, German, and Czech inscription that the descendants of Israel had also lived in the town and they represented a numerous religious community which even had its synagogue. In 1958, the cemetery where approximately 170 gravestones remained in existence – the oldest from 1729 - was proclaimed a cultural monument. Also, a valuable collection of Baroque, Classicism, and modern tombstones remains well preserved at the cemetery to the present. Nevertheless, since the German occupation, the cemetery was desolated, damaged and robbed by vandals. Its morgue was a ruin. Between 1987 and 1999 the cemetery was at the expense of the Municipality (earlier The Local National Committee), District Office (earlier The District National Committee) of Prachatice, and Jewish community of Prague – the current holder - reconstructed. The morgue was symbolically only partially reconstructed. The cemetery is about half full. From the morgue or depot only the perimeter walls foundation remain. On the stone gate is the following inscription: Mene, tekel… volá cas, zde se sejdem všichni zas. K poli mrtvých , kde je klid, s úctou vzhlížej všechen lid. Mene, tekel… the time is calling, here we all meet again. To the field of dead, where peace is, with respect look up to all the people. On the cemetery grow two memorable trees.
